Our Story
TJ Scott & Son has been a trusted family business since 1938, with the experience and values to support you during difficult times.
Our close-knit team is led by third and fourth generation funeral specialists and has a long history of caring for families in the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas.
While assisting central Victorian people to celebrate and farewell their loved ones, we’ve responded and contributed to community and industry changes.
Our exceptional service and care has remained a trusted constant over many years.
Throughout the process, communication with TJ Scott was prompt, efficient, and professional, yet always delivered with a gentle, caring touch. Jenny's compassion and dedication made a profound difference during such a challenging time, and we will forever be grateful for her presence and support.
Thanks so much again Jenny,
Warmly

Kelly Scott – Past National President (2023–2025)
Funerals Australia (formerly Australian Funeral Directors Association
Reflecting on her presidency, Kelly shared:
It has been an honour to serve as National President of the Australian Funeral Directors Association, now Funerals Australia, from 2023 to 2025. Throughout this period, our focus has been clear: to promote professional standards across the funeral profession and to increase awareness of the value of a farewell—whatever form that may take.
During my tenure, Training and Education have been at the forefront of our work, ensuring funeral professionals are well-equipped to support and care for families at one of life’s most difficult times.
The introduction of the Funeral Learning Hub has been a milestone achievement, providing accessible, ongoing professional development that reflects our commitment to excellence.
At Funerals Australia, we want every family to have a positive and informed experience when arranging a funeral. Choosing a Funerals Australia Member means choosing a funeral director who upholds a strict code of ethics and conduct, complies with PEV standards (premises, vehicles and equipment), and completes regular professional development.
Funerals are too important to leave to just anyone, and I am proud to have played a part in strengthening the standards and resources that safeguard families and uphold the trust of our communities.
Planning Ahead
Preplanning a funeral means different things to different people. For some it is very much about documenting their wishes, sometimes in very simple terms and sometimes in great detail. For other people their main concern is setting aside funds to ease the financial burden for their loved ones. For many people it is a combination of both. The first step is to meet with one of our team to help you decide in advance what you would like for your own personalised funeral.
We will ask you simple questions about what your vision is for your funeral. You can take your time to answer either during the session or at a later time. You will also be shown some examples of what is possible and of course, because we can design a funeral with you to suit your own personal requests, the possibilities are endless.
Your free, no obligation funeral planning session provides you with many options and the peace of mind knowing you are well organised in advance, saving your family time and ensuring issues are avoided during what is a very emotional experience.
