Our Story

TJ Scott & Son has been a trusted family business since 1938, with the experience and values to support you during difficult times. 

Our close-knit team is led by third and fourth generation funeral specialists and has a long history of caring for families in the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas.

While assisting central Victorian people to celebrate and farewell their loved ones, we’ve responded and contributed to community and industry changes.

Thank you to you all especially Kelly Clune who went above and beyond to ensure Mum ( Mary) farewell was a beautiful celebration . We in turn kept in touch and had our ideas so all helped and we worked as a team . Having the funeral fund already in place made it easier to decide how the service would proceed . Thank you so very very much . Could not have asked for a more beautiful farewell to our wonderful mum .

We recently organised a funeral with your company for my late husband and Kelly Clune handled the organising for us from start to finish and then follow up after the day. TJ Scott & Son Director Kelly Scott is the current national president of the Australian Funeral Directors Association.

Her recent appointment follows on from her role as the association’s senior vice-president and creating history as the very first father and daughter team to be voted into the presidential role, following in her father John Scott’s footsteps. “You never come into a role like this without an understanding of what, and most importantly, who, has come before, and I start my tenure on an incredible foundation with the titans of our industry behind me.”

Planning Ahead

Preplanning a funeral means different things to different people.  For some it is very much about documenting their wishes, sometimes in very simple terms and sometimes in great detail. For other people their main concern is setting aside funds to ease the financial burden for their loved ones. For many people it is a combination of both. The first step is to meet with one of our team to help you decide in advance what you would like for your own personalised funeral.

We will ask you simple questions about what your vision is for your funeral. You can take your time to answer either during the session or at a later time. You will also be shown some examples of what is possible and of course, because we can design a funeral with you to suit your own personal requests, the possibilities are endless.
