TJ Scott & Son has been a trusted family business since 1938, with the experience and values to support you during difficult times.
Our close-knit team is led by third and fourth generation funeral specialists and has a long history of caring for families in the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas.
While assisting central Victorian people to celebrate and farewell their loved ones, we’ve responded and contributed to community and industry changes.
Our exceptional service and care has remained a trusted constant over many years.
Retired police sergeant Thomas John Scott laid the foundations in Mollison Street, Kyneton. Back then, three small undertaking firms catered for the religious denominations of the town.
Thomas earned the respect and trust of the growing community through his caring and personal approach.
After Thomas’ eldest son Leo joined the air force in 1943, his younger son Jack Scott joined his father in business. He, together with his wife Carrie, took over the reins in 1946 following Thomas' retirement.
Following a move to Piper Street, Jack and Carrie’s sons John and later Robert, became third generation Funeral Directors.
By the 1990s, T J Scott & Son had settled into its current location, and the fourth generation of Scotts joined the business, including Kelly, our first female celebrant and funeral specialist, followed by Jack and Daniel.
For over 75 years we’ve responded to and pioneered change in the funeral industry.
From our humble first premises we now offer comfortable and contemporary facilities including three consulting rooms and our fully equipped mortuary and a 100-seat chapel in Kyneton.
Thomas Scott started out with a Packard Hearse and a Vanguard Utility. Now you can choose our modified Holden Caprices or your own special transport.
The experienced TJ Scott & Son team now cares for families from a broad range of backgrounds from three main central Victoria locations; Kyneton, Gisborne and Kilmore.
Throughout our history we’ve remained a 100% family owned and personally operated firm. Today you’ll be cared for by John Scott along with his three children, Kelly, Jack and Daniel and their experienced staff.
